Laborer – Buried Utility Construction

J & K Contracting LC is looking to hire dependable laborers to join our buried heavy utility crews. We’re looking for someone who shows up on time every day, works hard, and takes pride in doing the job right.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of water, sewer, and storm pipe
• Safely enter and exit trenches and excavations throughout the workday
• Handle shoveling, grading, pipe laying, and general labor tasks
• Work as part of a crew to complete buried utility projects efficiently and safely

Requirements

• Consistent, reliable attendance
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
• Ability to get in and out of holes/trenches repeatedly
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Preferred (Higher Pay for Experience and Class A or B CDL)

• Previous buried utility or pipe installation experience
• Experience working around heavy equipment
• Class A or B CDL

Pay Range - $16.00 - $22.00/Hour.  Rate dependent on experience and ability

Pay Range Explanation

Pay is based on your experience, reliability, and certifications. Entry‑level laborers start at the lower end of the range, while those with buried utility experience or a Class B CDL earn higher rates. Consistent attendance and strong work ethic are also rewarded.
