Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, social work, psychology, or related field. Must possess current driver’s license, experience working with families/children (birth to kindergarten) preferred.

The Parent Educator position is primarily responsible for delivering child development information to parents/caregivers with children prenatal-Kindergarten entry in the child’s natural environment, who reside within the Geary County Schools USD 475 boundararies. All work is performed in accordance with the National Parents as Teachers Curriculum and the Junction City Family YMCA policies and procedures.

 Conduct personal visits with families using a family-centered approach to support positive parenting practices, healthy child development, and school readiness.
 Provide parents with information, guidance, and developmentally appropriate activities that strengthen parent-child interactions and promote learning.
 Partner with families to identify strengths, establish goals, and monitor progress toward desired outcomes.
 Conduct developmental screenings and assessments in accordance with program requirements and discuss results with families.
 Connect families with community resources and support services and follow up on referrals as needed.

 Plan, facilitate, and participate in parent-child group connections, family engagement activities, and community outreach efforts.
 Recruit and retain eligible families and promote participation in program services and events.
 Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of services, family contacts, screenings, assessments, and referrals.
 Ensure compliance with program standards, agency policies, confidentiality requirements, and data management procedures.
 Collaborate effectively with families, colleagues, supervisors, and community partners to support positive outcomes for children and families.
 Participate in reflective supervision, staff meetings, required training, and ongoing professional development activities.
 Demonstrate professionalism through dependable attendance, punctuality, effective communication, sound judgment, and ethical conduct.
